A Bathroom With Her Exact Style — Not Somebody Else’s
The homeowner didn’t want a refresh. She wanted a bathroom with real character — and she knew exactly what that looked like.
The existing bathroom had served its time: a fiberglass tub-and-shower insert, basic fixtures, and a style that wasn’t hers. The bones of the home — including its beautiful wood-plank ceiling — deserved better.
This was a complete remodel, planned around a specific design vision: dimensional geometric accent tile, large-format stone-look walls, a white oak double vanity, and brushed gold finishes throughout — different elements and details, combined into one cohesive space.
Big Tiles, Bold Pattern — and Zero Room for Error
Every element was chosen to work together: dimensional geometric accent tile wrapping the room, large-format stone-look tile in the tub surround and on the floors, a white oak double vanity under brass-framed mirrors, and brushed gold fixtures — all beneath the home’s original wood-plank ceiling, which we kept.
The biggest challenge was the large-format tile itself. Because the tiles were so big, they were prone to cracking during cuts. When one broke, it had to be replaced — which meant material waste and waiting on new tile to be ordered and delivered before that wall could move forward.
There’s no shortcut for that. It took careful, patient cuts, one tile at a time, and a crew unwilling to let a hairline crack slide. The payoff is a seamless, nearly grout-free look you simply can’t get from standard tile.
